A one-day catalyst for cleantech innovation, investment, and collaboration in South-East Europe

About the event

The Cleantech Day for SEE served as the official launch event for Clean European Futures and its Cleantech for SEE platform. The event was co-hosted with the European Innovation Council and supported by the European Climate Foundation. In addition, a London-based investment fund hosted a roundtable discussion on the capital stack necessary to scale-up indigenous innovations from the wider Central and SouthEast European region.

Taking place in Bucharest in November 2025, the event brought together promising cleantech startups from the region (Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Slovenia), potential investors, corporate partners, and policy stakeholders from the region and beyond, as well as established actors from across the EU and international financing institutions.

We hosted a one-day event that blended interactive formats, including two topical roundtables, a curated panel, two keynote speeches, a fireside chat, and several networking sessions. The result was: through dialogues we identified opportunities for cleantech innovators in the region, we stimulated investment appetite, and identified areas where better policy alignment is needed in order to support the scale-up of cleantech innovation in Southeastern Europe.
